Following on from our school visits in November, I’m thrilled to be part of a fantastic competition for our local schools in conjunction with Wigan Councillors Conway, Hilton and Ready. The councillors have very generously purchased copies of A Greyt Christmas Tail as prizes for this competition.

Ramsey and Blue star in my books so, inspired by that, we are asking children to write a story about their pet or any animal they know. The story must be set in the local area. Each entry should be no longer than one A4 page and the closing date is Monday 22nd January.

The competition is open to all children who attend the five local schools – Aspull Church Primary School, Aspull Our Lady’s Primary School, St David’s Haigh and Aspull Primary School, Holy Family Primary School and Canon Sharples Primary School.

To enter, either hand your story into your school or email it to c.ready@wigan.gov.uk

Ramsey, Blue and I will visit the schools along with Councillors Conway, Hilton and Ready to present prizes to the winners at the end of January.

Children have such wonderful imaginations and I’m sure that there will be some fantastic stories – I can’t wait to read them!

Good luck and happy writing 🙂
